On March 21, Clements Fluids HR Manager Hope Lawrence celebrated her 11th anniversary with the company. No matter what the situation, Hope is always filled with joy and has meant so much to so many people during her 11 years with the company. Learn more about Hope and her time with Clements Fluids here:
Q: Today marks 11 years since you started at Clements Fluids, how has the company changed since you started here?
A: We have grown tremendously throughout the years. However, we have each grown as leaders as well. When I started we had about 40 employees total. It was very small, but I feel even closer to all of the employees now when we have so many more.
Q: What has Clements Fluids meant to you?
A: Clements Fluids Family has changed my outlook on life completely. I have learned to love my co-workers as if they were my family at home. They have influenced me spiritually and allowed me to flourish as a leader and serving others. This is my family – my home.
Q: What makes Clements Fluids different?
A: They care about you as an individual. I have worked for companies in the past that you have some friends there, but you can’t really talk to them about struggles, prayers, and openly about your struggles at work. Everyone here is open about everything. If you are struggling they are you shoulder, mentor, friend. When you achieve something – they praise you – even when you don’t expect it. You are never a number – you are an integral part of this community and the growth and future of what God has planned.
Q: What is your advice to anyone who is just beginning their career with Clements Fluids?
A: Open your heart and mind to your co-workers. Be patient, learn everything you can and build those relationships. When you love to come to work everyday, that is irreplaceable. When you feel like you have made a difference everyday, that is irreplaceable. When you have the opportunity to love the people you work with and go home to your family every night, that is irreplaceable.
Q: Any funny work stories?
A: When I was first hired on in 2008, I was four months pregnant. Megan and Donna offered me the position and if you know me, you know that sarcasm is everything! I replied and told them no, I don’t think so…then laughed because it was actually a joke. No one else in the world would have kept me on after that comment, but they loved me anyways. Not one of my proudest moments, but it was certainly memorable.
