RELATIONSHIPS.

January 1, 1970

Since October 2018, I have been on staff at Clements Fluids. I had known about the company and the Clements/Tarrant family since my time working at The University of Texas at Tyler. To be honest, I have never really had dreams of being in the oil and gas business, but I was in a place in my life that I was looking for a change in career, and Clements Fluids was one of the first places I looked. Luckily, they were hiring for their Recruiter position in Tyler, where I wanted to remain, so I applied. I had no “recruiting” experience, but the management team offered me the job and I have loved being a part of this family the past two years.

One of the main reasons I have loved this company so much is their emphasis on RELATIONSHIPS. The company’s vision is “R3”. Relationship with your Heavenly Father, relationship with your coworkers and relationship with our customers. A hefty vision that certainly is a challenge, but something that I readily accept. I have always been a “people” person, so most people would think that relationships just come naturally to me. They do, but mostly on the shallow end. I don’t want too many people to see the “real” me. Call it pride, call it fear, but whatever it is, I have always been that way. As crazy as this might sound, my time at Clements Fluids has helped me develop relationships and put more meaning into them.

R1 – Relationship with our Heavenly Father
While this is the first part of the company’s vision, it is by no means a REQUIREMENT to work at Clements Fluids. Our company was founded on those values and beliefs, and we continue to hold dear to them today. Our corporate office meets each Monday to pray for every employee we have. We pray for their families and any prayer concern they may have. We invite the rest of the company to join via video call and it has become quite a blessing to see people from all locations of the company. This focus on R1 has helped me personally as well. While I have been a Christian most of my life, I have struggled with being consistent in my walk with the Lord. Clements Fluids has helped me on that walk, which is amazing being able to say that about a oil and gas service provider. By no means are we perfect, we are FAR from it. I know I wrestle with different beliefs and truths on a daily basis, but have faith that God is all-knowing and loving all the time.

R2 – Relationship with Coworkers
This is one of my favorite parts of our vision. As I said before, I am a PEOPLE PERSON. I love interacting with people even if they don’t want to interact with me. I like to have a good time and have some fun, especially at work. Since I started working at Clements I have really enjoyed getting to know my coworkers and connecting with them on a deeper level than just “work”. Each week I have a one-on-one with my manager, which recently became our CEO Megan Tarrant. What?! Who gets to have one-on-one, personal, in-depth meetings with the CEO of their company? I consider it a blessing to be able to share what is truly on my mind in those meetings and listen to what Megan has on her heart as well. I have also gotten to know more coworkers through similar interests like hog hunting, sports and music. Our company truly does want each employee to feel welcome and loved. Again, we are not perfect. I know there are current employees who probably think they are over worked, under paid and under appreciated. Our goal is to make sure everyone feels apart of this family. It is something we challenge our managers to do every day and will continue to do so.

R3 – Relationship with Customers
When Mike and Donna Clements founded the company in 1985, their main strength was relationship with customers. Their “mom and pop” operation was known for taking care of their customers and truly caring for each one of them. That commitment to relationship started 35 years ago and is still a core value of our company. Our salesmen do not just try and make a sell, they are involved in the process from start to finish. If we cannot help a customer with their needs, we will do all we can to help them find the solution. That commitment to relationship is important to me.
